The Pangolin Chobe Hotel is situated on the plateau which rises steeply from the banks of The Chobe before leveling out for hundreds of further kilometres to the south. Botswana is incredibly flat so being positioned at such an elevated vantage point affords our guests a view across the Caprivi floodplains of Namibia as well as the Chobe River below. The hotel faces almost directly West which means we are blessed with the most staggeringly beautiful sunsets.
Getting to the Pangolin Chobe Hotel is very easy. There are daily flights into Kasane (BBK) Airport where you will be met by a member of our team and driven the short distance to the hotel to check-in. If you are arriving from The Okavango Delta on a charter flight we will be notified of your arrival time and once again be awaiting you at the airport.
With Victoria Falls being very close we can arrange a private transfer for you if you are staying there before or after. We have excellent relationships with hotels on both the Zimbabwean and Zambian sides of the Falls and will be happy to recommend places for you to stay there. Please speak to one of our travel planners.
Lastly, if you are self-driving we will send you detailed directions to find us when you have confirmed your reservation. We have plenty of free parking on the property for you.

The rooms are configured as either one large king sized bed or twin queen beds making is very comfortable for sharers wanting separate beds in the same room. the beds are made up with quality linen and super comfortable mattresses ensuring an excellent nights sleep.

The Pangolin Chobe Hotel is built around a large double volume gallery adorned with wildlife images taken around the world as well as a large collection of woodwork carvings lent to the hotel by a private collector. Each image is designed to demonstrate a different photographic skill or technique which will inspire you. The gallery is also interactive with a downloadable audio tour narrated by each of the photographers in their own words.
All the rooms lead off the the gallery either on the ground floor or on the balcony walk way above which lead to the first floor rooms.
The Dining Room and Pool Deck:
The Dining room is accessed from the gallery through a wide doorway and leads out onto the pool deck. This gives us the flexibility to eat either inside or out. We tend to have most of our evening meals on the deck with pre-dinner drinks being served in the fire pit below which is surrounded on three sides by our eco-pool. With the deck facing West it gets excellent sun in the afternoon should you decide to relax by the pool instead of going into the park The choice is always yours…this is your holiday!
The Pangolin Bar
On the first floor you will find the Pangolin Bar which overlooks the pool deck with seemingly endless views across the Caprivi Floodplains. The bar has a unique look and feel and is well stocked with wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks. There is a bean-to-cup coffee machine available throughout the day to treat yourself to a “Chobe-cino”. Whatever you need from the bar a member of our staff will be on hand to serve you throughout the stay. All meals and drinks are included in the room rate at The Pangolin Chobe Hotel.
The Editing Room
At the far end of the gallery you will find the editing suite which can seat up to 18 people at a time. There are plenty of plug points for laptops and cameras and guests are welcome to join the group editing sessions with the photo hosts in-between the morning and afternoon activities. The editing room can also be booked for groups wanting to host their own sessions.
We pride ourselves on serving only the freshest locally sourced food and our chefs change the menu seasonally to make the most of what is available. We are able to cater for most dietary requirements, restrictions and allergies. Please be sure to let us know in advance at the time of making your reservation so we can notify the chefs.
Before departing for the morning game drive or boat cruise a light breakfast is available in the dining room. This includes fruit, cereals, bread for toast, (porridge in the winter months) fruit juices as well as plenty of fresh coffee and hot water for the selection of teas.
On the morning activity there will be tea, coffee and bottled water available.
Brunch comprises a selection of fresh seasonal dishes, cheeses, cold meats, pastries as well as a cooked breakfast made to order. This meal is served around 11am when you have returned from your morning in the Chobe.
Just before we depart again for the afternoon in the park a light high tea will be served featuring a savory and sweet dish as well as coffee, tea and cold beverages.
Before dinner you are invited for a pre-dinner drink in the sunken fire pit on the deck which is large enough to seat every guest comfortably. Dinner is usually served on the deck under the African night sky and is varied daily by the chefs. We eat “family-style” at large communal tables swapping stories with our fellow travelers hosted by the Pangolin staff. Each evening the chefs announce the menu which is a three course meal prepared in the kitchen and also on open fires for our famous “Braai” (barbecue) or Potjie (stew) nights!
After dinner we tend to head up to the Pangollin bar for a nightcap before heading to bed to rest before the next day of adventure and wildlife encounters.
